Second day EC07 in Kayak and Canoe – Belgrade Ada Ciganlija Morning qualifications

Today, second day of European Championship competitions, half kilometer races were on the program. Serbia had representatives in four fields which rowed very well and placed into semi-finals.

First competition day of the 23rd European championship in kayak and canoe for juniors and young seniors, up to age 23, which is taking place in Belgrade on Ada Cignalija, Serbian calm waters representation colors will be defended in finals on Saturday and Sunday by Antonia Nadj, actual European champion in one-seat kayak on kilometer (K-1000m), she rowed in 4:15.415 min.

First competition day on 23rd European championship in kayak and canoe for juniors and young seniors, up to age 23, which is taking place in Belgrade on Ada Cignalija, in the morning competition, Serbian calm waters representation for the one kilometer qualifications, had achieved excellent results.

Dear sport friends, dear kayak and canoe athletes I give to you my sincere words of WELCOME to the European Championship.

After the 20 years the European Association has again put in us the trust by given Belgrade and Serbian Kayak Federation the honour to be the organizers of such an event.

European championship in kayak and canoe for juniors and young seniors to 23 years of age is being held on Ada Ciganlija from August 30th to September 2nd. On this European championship 37 countries will participate and there will be 1200 competitors.

European championship in kayak and canoe for juniors and young seniors after 20 years will take place in Belgrade, this is the sixth big tournament which is organized in our sport. The last world championship in kayak was held in 1987.

The International Regatta was held traditionally in Snagov, a city near Bukurest, Romania on the 14th, 15th and 16th of June 2007.

Our young Canoe team U23 was very successful and won 9 medals, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals.

The Energy of Belgrade - Be a good host to young Athletes of Europe is a name of the event which was organized by the Canoe Federation of Serbia and the Tourist Organization of Belgrade on 1st of June in Belgrade, as a presentation of the European Championships in Kayak-Canoe for Juniors and U23, which will be held in Belgrade, on Ada Ciganlija Lake between August 30th and September 2nd 2007.

The European Championships in Kayak-Canoe for Juniors and U23 which will be held on Ada Ciganlija Lake between August 30th and September 2nd 2007, as one of the most significant sport events in Belgrade this year, is also a part of the Summer Tourist offer in Belgrade, it was said on the press conference today on the International Tourism Fair in Belgrade.
